Juanita (Lee) Coffman was born on June 19, 1918, in Chicago, Illinois, to Lena (Cummings) Lee and Frank A. Lee, both of whom preceded her in death.

She attended the one room Waverly School House with her brothers, Frank Lee and Donald Lee, both deceased.

She married the late Elmer M. Coffman in 1950. They had one daughter, Mary Coffman Long (Patrick). Juanita has another daughter, the late Ardala Steel Bieker (Leldon). Her three grandsons are Bryan Bieker of Valparaiso, Bruce Bieker of Chesterton, and Scott Long (Liz) of Brunswick, MD. She also has two granddaughters, Brenda Bieker (Patrick Don Egan) of Pahoa, HI, and Amanda Quinn (Ryan) of Michigan City, IN. Juanita enjoyed five great-grandsons: Gentry, Dustin, and Andrew Bieker, and Austin and Ethan Quinn. She also has one great-great grandson, Andrew (Drew) Bieker.

Juanita was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chesterton for sixty years. She enjoyed a very active senior group at church, where she made many close friends and created lasting friendships. She spent her retirement years traveling with her husband of fifty-two years.

She enjoyed her church, her family, and southern gospel and Irish music. She liked being a mother, but she loved being a grandmother. Family vacations always included at least one grandchild. Her favorite Biible verse was Titus 2:13.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018, at 3 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton, IN, with Pastor Larry Starett officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Interment of Elmer and Juanita will be at Chesterton Cemetery at a later date.
