Sharon Sue Carpenter Anderson passes away at age 64

Funeral services were held for Sharon Sue Carpenter Anderson, 64, of Lucedale, MS, on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at 1 p.m., at Agricola Baptist Church.

Interment followed at Agricola Cemetery, with Dr. Tommy Mitchell officiating the services.

A retired school teacher at Semmes Middle School and a member of Agricola Baptist Church, she died June 11. She was born September 28, 1952 in LaPorte, Indiana.

She is survived by her daughters Amy (Johnny) Gilbert (age 43) of Middleburg, Indiana, Tina (Walter) Wright (37), Janie (Sammy) Grice (35), Sara (Josh) Graves (28), Emily (Coty) Creech (25), all of Lucedale; sons Jeremy (Leslie) Anderson (42) of Wilmer, AL, Billy (Melissa) Anderson (30) of Lucedale; grandchildren Johnny Gilbert III (20), Brianna Gilbert (10), Sophia Gilbert (8), Jeremy Anderson Jr. (14), Justin Anderson (12), Joseph Anderson (7), Annie Anderson (3), Jonathon Dunn (24), Walter “Trey” Wright III (21), Gabrielle Scott (18), Chelsea Scott (16), Shelby Wright (16), Heaven Rianna Scott (15), Madisyn Scott (12), Sammy Grice III (14), Joshua Grice (12), Kynleigh Anderson (11), Mack Anderson (7 months), Kerahdy Broome (9), Luke Graves (5), Carter Anderson (7), Mason Anderson (5), and Paxton Creech (1); brothers Chet (Ethel) Carpenter of Michigan City, IN, Leslie (Darlene) Carpenter Jr. of Gary, IN; sisters Arlene Bos of Westville, IN, Sandy (Butch) Fitzer of Grovetown, IN; and her best friend of 50 years JoAnn Carlson of Valparaiso, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leslie and LaVertta Carpenter and brothers Donald “Don” Carpenter and Dennis Carpenter.

Pallbearers were Rusty Hembree, David Creel, Justin Broome, William Redd, Jeremy Trehern, Harley Patterson, Mitchell Summers and Patrick Ainsworth.

George County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
