Chase, age 57, of Chesterton, IN, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017.
He was born on
October 28, 1959, in Gary, IN, to Thomas and Phyllis (Richter) Chase, who
preceded him in death.
Phillip is survived
by his daughters, Carolyn (Robert) Plaza of Fort Mill, SC, and Kimberly
(Jason) Larsen of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren, Claire and Charlotte Plaza,
Chase, Eleanor, Jack and Ann Larsen; brothers and sisters, Thomas (Shauna)
Chase of Ocala, FL, Carol Peterson of Merrillville, IN, Timothy (Donna)
Chase of Chesterton, IN, Cynthia (Daniel) Edwards of Duluth, GA, Terrence
Chase of Cedar Lake, IN, Michael (Ellen) Chase of Troy, MI and Claudia
(Peter) Mirabella of Schererville, IN; and many nieces, nephews, extended
family and dear friends.
Phil was a graduate
of Merrillville High School, class of 1978. He earned a Bachelorís degree
from Indiana University in business. He started working at Long John Silvers
39 years ago as a cook and worked his way up to Director of Operations with
BR Associates. Also, Phil had many successes in his new endeavor working as
a Real Estate Agent for McColly Real Estate. Phil was an incredible musical
talent and he loved to share this gift. Philís involvement in the music
ministries spanned many years. Beginning in high school, he sang with the
St. Peter and Paul youth choir in Merrillville and most recently added to
the tenor section of the St. Patrick adult choir. He was an avid pianist and
organist and was involved in many performances over the years. Additionally,
Phil enjoyed cooking for family and friends, cheering on IU basketball,
following the Chicago Cubs and watching his six grandchildren grow.

Burial will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., at St.
Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Chesterton, IN, 46304, with Father
Jon Plavcan officiating.
Visitation will be
on Friday, August 4, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a time of
sharing at 7:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway,
Chesterton, IN, 46304.
