Alexander Joseph Killosky, Jr., of Chesterton, Indiana, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon April 12, 2017, at age 82. His grandson Jim and good friend Donna Cunningham were with him when he passed.

Alex was born in Gary, Indiana, on March 1, 1935. He grew up in Liberty Township in northern Indiana where he helped his parents with their farm and orchard. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1953 and shortly after married Shirley Laszlo (his first wife) and they started a family. As a young man Alex started at U.S. Steel where he worked as a metallurgist until he retired 30 years later. During those early years, he also farmed several acres for neighbors and friends. After he retired from the mill he started a new job working 18 more years as the bar/facilities manager for the Chesterton American Legion. It was during this time that he met Donna and since 1984 she and her family have also been a significant part of his life.

Alex enjoyed several hobbies including fishing, wood working, bowling and an occasional poker game. For many years, there was an annual fishing trip to Canada with his long time friends. In his later years, after retiring, he enjoyed babysitting and spending time with the young children in his life.

Alex was preceded in death by his parents Alexandria (known as Olga) and Alexander, his sister-in-law Madelyn, and niece Charlotte Jean Kolasa.

He is survived by his sister Geraldine Helen Ranalli (husband Joe) and his brother James Edward, three children, James Martin, Lisa Ann Holm (husband Jim) and Donald Perry Alan, two grandchildren, James Alex and Melissa Marie Stephens (husband Travis), three great-grandsons, Christian, Trystan and Lucian Stephens, two step-grandchildren Douglas Allen Adams (wife Kim) and their children Ashley, Joseelyn and John and Christina Lynn Adams and her children and his loving nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by Donna Cunningham and her four children, Brent, Janis, Julie and Jill, three grandchildren Shawn, Amber and Nicole and three great-grandchildren Layne, Chevy, and Hunter.
