Memorial Service Saturday for Gloria A. Nass, age 92

Gloria A. Nass, age 92 of Chesterton, IN and formerly of Tinley Park, IL passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Valparaiso, IN. She was born on August 29, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Stella (Baltrusates) Janicki.

She is survived by her sons, William (Jonnie Lee) Jeffries of Chesterton, IN and David (Oneida) White of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Karen (Rick) Camerano, Robert (Tracy) Jeffries, Julie White, Jannon Jeffries and Jayson (Renee) Jeffries and great-grandchildren, Anthony, Autumn, Brooklyn, Leila and Jalen; former husband Peter White, and half sister Gladys Pratscher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, William E. Jeffries, Thomas D’Amico and James Nass and brother, Richard Janicki.

Gloria was a Democratic election judge for many years and worked as a switchboard operator during WWII. She owned her own business doing electrolysis and enjoyed making pine cone wreaths and crosses. She loved all animals, especially cats and every cat she had was named Mitzie. While living with Bill and Jonnie Lee, she enjoyed going to St. Agnes Senior Center in Valparaiso.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 6:00 p.m., at Brady-Gill Funeral Home, 16600 Oak Park Avenue, Tinley Park, IL, 60477, with Pastor Steven Lange officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Cremation services will be provided by Heritage Crematory, Portage, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
