Kurt H. Furness,
42, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at 6:35
p.m., in his home.
Funeral services
will be conducted Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel,
418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana with Pastor Mark Reshan
officiating. Private family burial will take place in Furnessville Cemetery.
Visitation hours
will be from 4:00 p.m. Tuesday until the time of service in the Ott/Haverstock
Funeral Chapel.
He was born April
20, 1974 in Michigan City, Indiana, to Clayton and Judy (Renbarger) Furness.
Surviving are his
father and step-mother, Clayton and Kathy Furness of Michigan City, IN; two
sisters, Angela (Nathan) Furness of Valparaiso, IN and Jesi Furness of
Michigan City, IN; two brothers, Christopher (Robyn) Furness of LaPorte, IN
and Kenny (Christina) Furness of Chesterton, IN; step-sister, Tina (Chris)
Collier of Michigan City, IN; step-brother, Chad (Aimee) Rusboldt of LaPorte,
IN; nieces and nephews, Heather, Melissa, Maxymus, Clayton, David and
Jeffrey; great-niece, Jocelyn; and loving aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in
death by his mother, Judy Furness.
Kurt was a
commercial fisherman. He had a big heart and would help anyone in need. Kurt
cherished the friendships that he acquired through his time at the Dunes
Fellowship House.
