"Mitch" Dresbaugh, 68, of Logansport, passed away at 1:18 p.m. Saturday,
June 11, 2016, in Community Howard Regional Health Hospital, Kokomo.
Born July 1, 1947,
in Hammond, he was the son of the late Theodore J. and Hazel (Hawkins)
He was married to
Kathleen R. (Billerbeck) Dresbaugh on August 2, 1969, in Chesterton. She
survives in Logansport.
Mitch was a veteran
of the United States Marine Corps, serving four years including time spent
in Vietnam from 1965-1966. His death was a result of his service to his
country from health concerns related to his exposure to Agent Orange while
He was retired from
General Telephone. He had also worked for Preferred Electronics and Houston
Mitch was a member
American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. Mitch was also
a volunteer driver for the Veterans Administration.
Surviving with his
wife are two brothers, Richard Dresbaugh of Wheatfield, IN and James
Thompson of Washington State; a sister-in-law Mary Lou (Glenn) Cole of
Valparaiso; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends may visit
with the family from 4-7 p.m. EST Tuesday, June 14, in Fisher Funeral
Chapel, 1801 Chase Road, Logansport, where the Cass County Honor Guard will
present a memorial salute at 4 p.m.
On Wednesday, June
15, from 3-7 p.m. CST, visitation hours will be held at the Edmonds and
Evans Funeral Home 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN.
On Thursday, June
16, a funeral service celebrating the life of Mitch Dresbaugh will be held
at 11 a.m. CST, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 West 100 North,
Chesterton, with Pastor Erik Grayvold officiating.
Burial, with full
military honors, will follow in the Chesterton Cemetery.
