Scott (Nee: Spangler), age 38 of Porter, IN, passed away on January 24,
She was born on
November 4, 1977, in Harvey, IL.
She is survived by
her husband of 13 years, Paul “Randy” Scott; twin sons, Paul III and Phillip
Scott; parents, Dennis and Phyllis (Rapp) Spangler of Palmetto, FL, sisters,
Jennifer White of Tampa, FL, and Rebecca Spangler of Hammond, IN; mother and
father-in-law, Paul and Rita Scott, Sr. of Porter, IN; brother-in-law, Mark
(Peggy) Tuzinski; sister-in-law, Tammy (Mark) Barragan and many nieces,
nephews, extended family and many friends throughout the region.
in 1996 from Munster High School where she was an athlete and a four time
letterman. She played on two national soft ball teams, played basketball,
softball, soccer and cross country. She joined the National Guard in 1995
while a junior in high school. She graduated from Purdue University with a
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management. She also attended Jones
International University in Centennial, Colorado, where she received a
Master’s Degree in Education and graduated with Magna Cum Laude. She was on
the board of the Chesterton Wrestling Club, known as “Spirit Wear.” She
previously taught at Challenger Center at Purdue University Calumet in
Hammond, IN, and worked for International Code Council in Flossmoor, IL. She
was a substitute teacher for Chesterton schools and was currently teaching
at Field Station Cooperative Preschool in Porter, IN, where she was very
active in community programs and fundraisers. She was also a substitute
teacher and coach at Discovery Charter School in Porter, IN. Elizabeth was
an avid runner and was training to qualify to run the Boston Marathon.

Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, with Pastor Quincy Worthington
Visitation will be
held on Thursday, January 28, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the
funeral home. Cremation will be provided by Heritage Crematory, Portage, IN.
