Private services for Marilyn Wallace, age 84

Marilyn (nee Finnegan) Wallace, age 84, of Michigan City, passed away Friday, February 26, 20016.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 64 years; John “Roger” Wallace, sons; Guy (Brenda) Wallace of Valparaiso, Dr. Hugh (Donna) Wallace of Lewisville, NC. Also, grandchildren; Cassandra (Tien) Wallace, Ashley, Hayley, Kynan, Elise, Beth Wallace; great-grandchildren Keira, Adlyn and Rowan Wallace; brother James (Margie) Finnegan; sister Elaine Finnegan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Ann Finnegan and sister Patricia “Patsy” (Late Gene) Lundy.

Marilyn graduated from Horace Mann High School in Gary in 1951, attended IU and held several secretarial positions at Jay-Mar Ruby, Krueger Junior High School, and Bethlehem Steel. In retirement, Marilyn not only checked out a lot of books but participated in Michigan City Library’s many programs, was a regular at the summer annual string quartet concerts and Michigan City municipal band concerts. Marilyn loved people and would strike up conversations with almost any stranger she met while shopping, at the Lubeznik Art Center, or at the Michigan City Public Library. Marilyn will be deeply missed by her loving family.

There will be a Private Family Celebration of life held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Geisen-Carlisle Funeral & Cremation Services, at 613 Washington St., Michigan City, IN, 46360.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Michigan City Public Library or the Porter County Visiting Nurses Association.
