Mitchell T.J.
“Mitch” Dresbaugh, age 68, of Logansport, IN, passed away on Saturday, June
11, 2016, in Kokomo, IN.
He was born July 1,
1947, in Hammond, IN, to Theodore J. and Hazel (Hawkins) Dresbaugh.
On August 2, 1969
he married Kathleen R. Billerbeck in Chesterton, IN.
Mitch is survived
by his loving wife, Kathleen R. Dresbaugh of Logansport, IN; brothers,
Richard Dresbaugh of Wheatfield, IN, and James Thompson of Washington State;
sister-in-law, Mary Lou (Glenn) Cole of Valparaiso, IN; numerous nieces,
nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in
death by his parents, Theodore and Hazel Dresbaugh.
Mitch was a veteran
of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving four years, including time spent in
Vietnam from 1965-1966. His death was a result of his service to his country
from health concerns related to his exposure to Agent Orange while in
Vietnam. He was retired from General Telephone and had also worked for
Preferred Electronics and Houston Electronics. Mitch was a member of the
American Legion and he was also a volunteer driver for the Veterans
Administration. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.
Funeral Service
will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, 2050 West 1100 North, Chesterton, IN, with Pastor Erik Grayvold
officiating. Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery with Military
honors.
Visitation will be
held on Tuesday, June 14, at Fisher Funeral Chapel, 1801 Logansport, IN,
from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 15, at Edmonds & Evans
Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Shriners
Hospitals for Children.
