Michael J. Williamson services Tuesday

Michael J. Williamson, Sr., age 64 of Michigan City, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

He was born on December 9, 1950, to John and Julia Williamson, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children, Denise (Ted) Miley of Valparaiso, IN, Michael J. Williamson, Jr. of Chesterton, IN, David A. Williamson of Tucson, AZ, John D. (Kelly) Williamson of Chesterton, IN and Elizabeth G. (Brandon) Vespo of Portage, IN; brother, Patrick D. Williamson of Goodfield, IL; sister, Susan Williamson Essig of Washington, IL, five granddaughters, two grandsons and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by siblings, James Carpenter, Nancy Lee Widdows, Catherine Pipkin, Luanna Fryxell and John Carpenter, former wife and friend, Marie K. Mattish; niece, Samantha Pipken and nephew, Joseph R. Taylor.

Michael was a lifelong Cubs and University of Illinois Fan. He loved to read, loved animals and enjoyed history, especially Abraham Lincoln. He was a member of the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.

Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Heritage Crematory in Portage, IN.

Arrangements are being handled by Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN.
