Edward Anderson dies at age 93

Edward Anderson, age 93 of Chesterton, passed away on January 9, 2015.

He was born on March 1, 1921 in Chicago, Ill. to Herbert Oscar and Hilda Wetzel-Anderson, both of whom preceded him in death.

Edward is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Margaret Hojcus-Anderson who survives in Chesterton. Also surviving are his children: Judith (Charles) Stewart of Valparaiso, Edward Anderson of Chesterton, and Bill Anderson of Chesterton, as well as his grandson, Charles (Mary Ann) Stewart of Chicago.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Carol McNeill.

Ed’s family owned Anderson’s Meat Market in Chesterton for many years after moving to Chesterton from Chicago. He was a graduate of Chesterton High School and was also an Indiana University graduate. He proudly served his country as a WWII veteran and was awarded a Purple Heart. Ed worked as a Prudential Insurance Agent for many years. He was a member of St. John’s United Church in Chesterton, was a member of Disabled American Veterans and was a Chesterton Cemetery board member for many years.

Private family services will be held at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton.
