Dennis Kent Bubac,
age 67, of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away peacefully and surrounded by
loved ones on August 10, 2015, at Porter Regional Hospital.
He is survived by
his devoted wife of 46 years, Carol A, Bubac; daughter, Kimberly (Andy) Kass
of Valparaiso, Indiana; son, Robert (Tonya) Bubac of Westville, Indiana;
beloved grandchildren, Tori, Travis, Katelyn and Karson; sisters, Diane
(Paul) Kozubal of Hammond, Indiana, Dawn (Mike) Piers of Flager, Florida,
and Dru (Eric) Choker of Spokane, Washington; brothers, David (Sue) Bubac of
Camdenton, Missouri, Dwight (fiancé Janet) Bubac of Zebulon, North Carolina,
and Duane (Julie) Bubac of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in- law, Karen Kusta of
Highland, Indiana; and brother-in-law, Richard Kusta of Hobart, Indiana.
Dennis is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Dennis was born to
the late Ervin and Doris (Knapp) Bubac in Gary, Indiana on August 11, 1947.
He was the oldest of seven children and attended Lew Wallace High School.
Dennis worked as a Recorder on the Pickle Line at the Burns Harbor steel
mill for 47 years. He was known for his home improvement projects and had a
natural knack for fixing things. Dennis enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs
and Bears on television. Dennis loved animals and left behind two dogs
(Holly and Connor) and a cat (Oreo). He was passionate about old trucks
particularly Internationals and Scouts. He cherished his wife and was her
confidant. Dennis loved his family more than anything and was happiest when
he was with them. He very much enjoyed sitting on his back deck visiting
with family and friends.
He passed away
after bravely battling complications from diabetes. Dennis will be greatly
missed by his family and friends, however, he will live on in our hearts.
Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held at Sand Creek Country Club on
September 26th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Visiting
Nurses Association of Porter County, 2401 Valley Drive, Valparaiso, Indiana
46383 would be appreciated.
