Celebration of Life Saturday for Heather Ann Serafin

Heather Ann Serafin, age 17 of Valparaiso, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015 in her home.

She was born on July 3, 1998 in Valparaiso to Brian and Beth Serafin, both surviving in Valparaiso.

Heather is also survived by her brother Roy Serafin of Valparaiso, Grandmother Maureen Serafin of Valparaiso; Godmothers Sharon and Audrey Kowalczyk of Arizona, her Aunt Annette Dixon of Chicago, many cousins, many adopted aunts and second mothers, many best friends who were like sisters, and her beloved “Goof Troop.”

She was preceded in death by her Grandfather, Roy Serafin in 1990, her Uncle Kenneth Serafin and her Aunt Ann Marie Kirchner. Heather was a member of the Crossroads Family Church, where she was a 4:12 Youth Ministry Leader. She served her Lord through mission work and at the church nursery, starting at age 11. Heather was a student at Indiana Connections Online. She also considered herself a professional Walt Disney World connoisseur, having been there 21 times in her lifetime. Heather was very physically fit and graduated twice from the P90X as well as the Insanity workout and completed the Mudathlon 2013 with her Dad.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Crossroads Family Church, 2386 Willowcreek Rd., Portage, IN from 1 until 4 p.m. with Pastor Michael Bean officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you share your memories and pictures of Heather in a keepsake book or other means of sharing. We would love to read your stories.
