Kirsten Alice (Hershberger) Howard, age 47 of South Bend, Ind., passed away
at 8:50 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 in Hospice House.
Kirsten was born on September 7, 1965 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Dalmain
and Fay (Gindlesperger) Hershberger.
She had lived in South Bend since 1990, coming from Chesterton, Ind.
On September 1, 1990, at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, she married John
Howard, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Timothy J. Howard and Matthew A. Howard both of
South Bend, Ind.; one sister, Daniell (Dana) Boom of Centennial, Colo.,
niece Allison; and one brother, Rod (Leslie) Hershberger of Greeley, Colo.,
nephew Christian and niece Madison.
Kirsten had been employed as an Optician at Lounge Optical in Chesterton,
Ind., and Dr. Kitner and Dr. Shearer in Mishawaka, Ind. Kirsten was a member
of St. Anthony de Padua Parish. She enjoyed painting, drawing, cross stitch
and ceramics.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., E.S.T. Friday, February
8, in St. Anthony de Padua Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph
Cemetery.
Friends may call for one hour prior to the Mass on Friday in St. Anthony de
Padua Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony de Padua Church.
