Donald Eckstein, age 79 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Thursday, January
10, 2013 at his home.
He was born July
24, 1933 in Jasper, Ind., to Bernard and Rose (Nolan) Eckstein, both of whom
preceded him in death.
Donald was
married on March 10, 1979 in Chesterton, to Gloria (Elmerick) Eckstein, who
survives of Chesterton.
He is also
survived by his daughter, Debra (Brian) McNally of Gardenia, Calif.;
brothers, Thomas (Joann) Eckstein of Hayesville, Ind., and William (Bobbie)
Eckstein of Jasper, Ind.; sisters, Jean Isom of Greenwood, Ind., Millie
Stemley of Frankfort, Ind. and Irma (Gene) Gudorf of Jasper, Ind.; and
grandchildren, Morgan and Chelsea.
He was preceded
in death by his parents; one brother; and three sisters.
Donald served
with the Honor Guard Company H 504th Airborne Infantry Regiment. He was a
truck driver for Jack Grey and owner/operator of Eckstein Trucking Inc. He
retired in 1993.
Donald’s family

Funeral services
will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans
Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind., with Pastor Larry Starett
officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation will
be held Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
