Anita E. Peterson dies at age 85

Anita E. Peterson, age 85 of Haubstadt, Ind., passed away Tuesday Feb. 19, 2013 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, Ind.

She was born Oct. 11, 1927 in Harvey, North Dakota to Nels and Anna Elizabeth (Hamburg) Olson.

She is survived by three sons, Keith Peterson of Knox, Ind., Kirk Peterson (Barb) of Haubstadt, Ind., and Kenneth Peterson of LaPorte, Ind.; five grandchildren, Kelly Peterson, Amy Wallace, Ericka Obert, Alysa Peterson and Alex Peterson; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert W. Peterson and brother Norman Olson.

She attended Chesterton High School in Chesterton, Ind. She retired after 45 years of being a Registered Nurse, last working at the LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte, Ind.

She had lived in Haubstadt for the past 19 years moving there from LaPorte. She loved crafts, fishing, and gardening. She was an avid reader.

There will be a visitation from 4 until 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, Ind. Fr. Tony Ernst will officiate the prayer service.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, in the Chesterton Cemetery, Chesterton, Ind.
