Raymond F. Germain service is Monday

Raymond F. Germain, age 79 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his home.

Raymond was born on November 24, 1934 in Chicago, Ill., to Fred and Dorothy Modine-Germain,

both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children: Cameron (Carol) Germain, of Michigan City, Scott (Debra) Germain of LaCrosse, Craig Germain of North Liberty, IN, Shannon (Michael) Centola of Atlanta GA and Derek (Tina) Germain of Valparaiso. Also surviving are his ten grandchildren: Craig, Heather, Alan, Ashley, Kymberly, Camille,

Cheyenne, Sariah, Michael and Olivia, as well as five great-grandchildren, and siblings: Rosemary, Fred, Mert, Dorothy, Sandy and Sheri. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nancy Germain on December 1, 2008, his daughter, Raydel Ann and brothers Ronald and Hoyt.

Raymond was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Moose Lodge 980 Michigan City and was an avid bowler and golfer. He was employed at US Steel for 29 years and was an owner of Buttons and Bows in Chesterton with his wife Nancy. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N Calumet Ave., Chesterton, with

Father Jerry Schweitzer officiating. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Cemetery in Michigan City.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 3, from 2 until 6 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton.
