Paul A. Byrnes,
III, age 52, of Valparaiso, Ind., formerly of Chesterton, passed away
Friday, August 1, 2014, at his home.
He was born
February 26, 1962, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the son of Paul A. and
Caroline (Fischer) Byrnes, Jr.
Paul is survived by
his two children, Arlene Byrnes of Chesterton, and Paul Byrnes, IV of
Valparaiso, Ind.; their mother, Renee Byrnes of California; his mother,
Caroline Byrnes of Chesterton; two grandchildren, Brent and Kylie Roop; five
brothers and sisters, Ann Byrnes, Mary (Mitt) Denney, Tom (Kathy) Byrnes,
Patricia Byrnes, Denise (Nick) Gregurich, and many loving nieces and
He was preceded in
death by his father, Paul Byrnes, Jr.
Paul graduated from
Chesterton High School in 1980 and attended Purdue University. Paul began
his working career as a manager for Martin Marietta, went on to work as a
lineman for NIPSCO, a job that he loved dearly, and recently was the station
operator at the Michigan City Generating Station. Paul held a black belt in
several of the martial arts and coached girls soccer and Pop Warner Football
in Valparaiso for seven years. He had the ability to bring out the very best
in the youth that he coached. Paulís happiest moments were spending time
with his family and two grandchildren, who brought him much joy. He was a
very loving father, grandfather, son and brother who will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be
held Saturday, August 9, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Moeller
Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, Ind., with the funeral service
beginning at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Craig Forwalter will officiate. Burial will
follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso.
