Martha Fancher
Pattengale died Sunday, September 14, 2014, in Valparaiso, Indiana.
Martha was born in
Deer Lodge, Tennessee, on August 20, 1920, to Frank Cent and Mary Borowicz.
She is survived by
her two younger brothers, Peter Cent of Benton, Kentucky and Robert Center
of Seattle, Washington.
Martha was preceded
in death by her first husband, Kenneth Fancher, second husband, Chauncey
Pattengale, as well as her siblings, Adam, Rose, John, Daniel and Joel and
parents.
She is survived by
sons, Alan (Gloria) Fancher of Chesterton, Indiana and Michael (Donna)
Fancher of Yorba Linda, California; grandchildren Michelle Kmak, of Texas,
Jon (Kelly) Fancher, of Chesterton, Robert Fancher of California, and Kelly
(Ron) Morrissette of California; great-grandchildren Catie Kmak, of Texas,
Nikko and Camron Fancher, of Chesterton, and Asher Morrissette, of
California.
Martha worked for
Bell Telephone for 7 years and Porter Memorial Hospital for 25 years. She
volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Leader, library volunteer, Pink Lady at the
hospital, Sunday School teacher and choir member.
Throughout her
life, Martha was always busy knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting. She
was a wonderful cook and fed anyone who came in the door.
Funeral services
will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 10 a.m., at White-Love
Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St. Chesterton, IN, with Pastor Scott Tyring
officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will
receive friends and family on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 4 until 7 p.m. at
the funeral home.
