Judith M. Guriel,
age 77 of Chesterton, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014, at Porter
Regional Hospital.
She was born on
July 17, 1937 in LaPorte, IN to Edward and Eleanor Jachim-Rozhon, both of
whom preceded her in death.
On November 25,
1960, she married Paul Guriel, who preceded her in death in June of 1983.
Judy is survived by
her daughter, Lisa Tucker of Chesterton; grandchildren: Stephen (Shelby)
Evener of Franklin, IN, Anthony Dooley of Indianapolis, IN and Molly Tucker
of Chesterton. Also surviving are her siblings: Phil (Rosemary) Rozhon of
Valparaiso, Richard (Carolyn) Rozhon of Valparaiso and Nancy (William) Lynch
of Portage, along with several nieces and nephews.
Judy was a member
of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she also served as an organist for
many years. She was also an organist for St. Mary in Miller and St. Anne of
the Dunes in Beverly Shores. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, music and
gardening.
Funeral services
will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 12 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic
Church, 640 N Calumet Rd, Chesterton with Father James Meade and Father
Jerry Schweitzer officiating. A private family burial will be held at St.
Jacob Catholic Cemetery, North Judson.
The family will
receive friends on Thursday, October 23, 2014, from 4 until 8 p.m. at
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. A prayer service
will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
