James Mullin dies at age 53

James “Squeak” Mullin, age 53 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 at his home.

He was born March 11, 1960 in Chicago, Ill., to John Joseph and Marian (Schuman) Mullin.

He was married September 29, 1990, to Gail Kepperling.

Jim is survived by his wife, Gail Mullin of Chesterton; mother, Marian Mullin; children, James (Angie) Mullin of Portage, Ind., Michael (Erynn) Mullin of Valparaiso, Ind., Racheal Mullin (Rob Thomason) of Hobart, Ind., Shawn (Kendyl) Mullin and Addison James Mullin, both of Chesterton; grandchildren, Anthony and Kayden; siblings, Shirley Ellis, John Mullin, Darlene (Wesley) Prunckle, Edward Mullin and Thomas (Paula) Mullin; and 63 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Jim worked as head mechanic for Brites Cartage in Illinois. He enjoyed boating, old cars and horses. He also enjoyed yardwork and gardening, especially taking care of his roses. More than anything Jim loved spending time with his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton, Ind.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 19, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind.
