Frank Hemenway, age
81 of Chesterton, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 in Valparaiso, Ind.
He was born on
March 26, 1933 in Los Angeles, Ca., to Frank and Geraldine (Matteson)
Hemenway, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by
his wife, Dililia I. (Ritchey) Hemenway, of Chesterton; sons, Frank Hemenway
of Pa. and Ed Denny of Co.; daughter, Joann Lewis of Ia., step-sons, Fred
(Mary) Alumbuagh of Toccoa, Ga. and Ray (Cindy) Alumbaugh of Michigan City,
Ind.; step-daughters, Jodi (Cornell Jr.) Smith of Porter, Thelma (Thomas)
Scott of Chesterton, and Naomi (John) Buechner of Toms River, N. Jersey;
brothers, Richard, Jack and Jim Hemenway and numerous grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Frank was a
correctional officer at Westville Correctional Facility. He was a member of
the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with
Dililia, his soul mate.
Funeral services
will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014, at Edmonds & Evans
Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
Visitation will be
held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will
follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
