Floyd Jay Frank, age 86 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away on Thursday,
October 3, 2013, at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, Ind.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., on July 14, 1927 to Clarence and Marie
Saylor-Frank, both of whom preceded him in death.
On October 12, 1951, in Chicago, Ill., he married Doris Domke-Frank, who
also preceded him in death.
Floyd is survived by his daughters Kim (Dan) Miller of Chesterton and Dawn
(Rick) Dees of Chesterton; grandchildren Luke (Raechel) Miller, Tucker
Miller, Amanda (Zach) Krachinski and Jacqueline (Joshua) Holmes and
great-grandchildren Logan Miller and Joshua Holmes.
Also, his brother Christopher (Deborah) Frank survives in Rough and Ready,
Floyd was also preceded in death by his brother Clarence and a sister
Floyd was an electrician and worked as a Plant Manager for NIPSCO, where he
retired in 1982. He was a member of the Calumet Masonic Lodge #379, F. &
A.M. and Moose Lodge 1623. Floyd was a private pilot, belonging to the AOPA
and EAA. He was quite the craftsman building two airplanes which he flew in,
two hover crafts, an outboard cruiser and sail boat. Many memories were made
with the purchase of the first electric car in Chesterton. He was a loving
father, grandfather and brother.
At Floyd’s request there will be no services.
