Diane Kathleen Gude Klikus, age 54, of Chesterton, Ind., passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014, at her home.

She was born on September 11, 1959 in Fort Worth, Texas, to Robert A. and Mary Ellen King Gude, both of whom survive in Fort Worth.

Also surviving are her children: Jessica (Corey) Barnes of Burns Harbor, Michael (Kim) Klikus of Young Harris, Ga., Robert Klikus of Chesterton, and Ryan Klikus of Chesterton; and grandchildren Madison and Brayden Barnes. Diane is also survived by her siblings: David Gude of San Antonio, Texas, Meg Mueller of Irving, Texas, Mark (Nora Fitzgerald) Gude of Dripping Springs, Texas, Stephen Gude of Dallas, Texas and Suzanne Gude of Coppell, Texas and her significant other, Tom Lenburg of Chesterton, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her daughter, Sydney on August 4, 2011. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila.

Diane touched many lives while working as a guidance counselor at Morgan Township Middle and High School. She also served as a drug counselor at Porter-Starke, where she conducted group therapy sessions. Diane enjoyed singing and playing her guitar. She also loved planting in her garden and had a fondness for fishing. Her kind spirit and warm smile will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014, at 10 a.m. from St. Teresa of Avila, 1511 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso, Ind., with Father Kevin McCarthy officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 12, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St. Chesterton.
