William “Bill” Knight, III, age 56 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at his home.

He was born November 17, 1955 in Nuremburg, Germany to William M. and Elizabeth (Haslett) Knight Jr., who preceded him in death.

He was married to Carla (Cantwell) Knight, who survives of Chesterton.

Bill is also survived by his daughters, Missy (Rich) Dorton of Porter, Ind., and Cassey (Larry) Daugherty of Valparaiso, Ind.; step son, Rob (Sarah) Tice of Millinocket, Maine; brother, Tom (Mary) Knight of Westville, Ind.; and grandchildren, Tyler, Ethan and Felicity Dorton and Owen and Alyssa Daugherty.

Bill enjoyed fishing with his brother and grandchildren and also loved hunting. Bill worked for Phillips Metals and Bethlehem Steel, retiring in 2008.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind.
