Thomas William Bushore of Flushing, Michigan, passed away from cancer on
February 6, 2012.
Tom was born March 7, 1946 in Gary, Indiana, to William and Emily (Beam)
Bushore who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Peggy (Gondek), originally of Michigan City, and
daughter Jessica of Beavercreek, Ohio.
Also surviving are siblings Stephen (Carol) Bushore of Chesterton, Robert
(Peggy) Bushore of Hebron, and Mary Emily (Mike) Johnson of Pueblo, Colorado
as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. Thomas also is survived by
many loving relatives from his wife’s Gondek and Eikelberg families.
Thomas was a native of Chesterton, Indiana. He achieved a business degree
from Purdue University where he met his wife, and an MBA from the University
of Michigan. He was employed by HI-LEX auto parts manufacturer and managed
their Honda account as Honda Account Executive, a position in which he was
known for his friendliness and personality by those he met across the globe.
Thomas’ personal life centered around his love of family, his dog Eddie, and
compassion for animals. His backyard is a wildlife menagerie of squirrels,
birds, and rabbits. Thomas’ greatest joy was his close relationship with his
only daughter and their shared love of travel and adventure. His battle with
cancer illustrated how well loved he was, through the amount of assistance
his family received with meals, transportation, and support by his coworkers
and Flushing neighbors. His family was humbled by the extensive
correspondence and numerous personal visits that are a testament to his
steadfast friendships.
The family asks that those desiring to honor Thomas’ life support a charity
of their choice.
Thomas’s siblings will hold a memorial at Noon on Friday, February 10, 2012
at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 North Calumet Road, Chesterton, Indiana,
46304. Services in Michigan are pending.
