Chesterton resident Terry W. Dietz, 62, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in
Valparaiso.
He was born April 23, 1950, in Valparaiso, to Wayne R. and Elaine (Young)
Dietz.
Terry is survived by his mother, Elaine Dietz of Chesterton; brother, Tim
Dietz of Michigan City; sister, Kerry Smiertelny of Michiana Shores, Ind.;
nieces, Danielle and Allison Smiertelny of Michigan City, Amy (Mike) Dietz-Focosi
of Lafayette, Ind.; and nephew, Sean Dietz of Michigan City.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Dietz.
Terry was a lifelong area resident and a professor at Valparaiso University.
Cremation will take place at Heritage Crematory in Portage.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, at the
Valparaiso University Center for Arts Building, 1600 Chapel Dr., Valparaiso,
IN 46383. Interment of ashes will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
Arrangements are being conducted by Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517
Broadway in Chesterton.
