David Charles Ott, age 79 of Chesterton, passed away Monday April 2, 2012 at
his home.
He was born October 23, 1932, in Malmo, Minnesota, to Charles and Ruth
Sandburg Ott, both of whom preceded him in death.
On July 5, 1986 in Edinburgh, Scotland, he married Audrey Berry Ott, who
survives in Chesterton.
Also surviving are his daughters Audra (Michael) Ott Simms and Janice Ott,
both of Chesterton, as well as grandchildren Rachel (Nate), Korynn,
Victoria, Madison, Kyle and Kayla, Leif and Elizabeth, Collin and Gracie,
Josephine and Henry, Alex and Courtney and two great-grandchildren, Ethan
and Levi.
David also leaves four step children: Eric Nelson of Georgia, Greda Nelson
Jacott of Wisconsin, Karna (Pat) Nelson Hudoba of Minnesota and Shestin
Nelson of Chesterton; eight step grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren
and his sister Ruby (Vance) Ott Nelson of Minnesota.
David’s first wife Virginia preceded him in death in 1982.
David was a member of the VFW Post 2311, Porter.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 5, at 8:00 p.m. at the
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, with Pastor Allen
Wright officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 5, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at
the funeral home with a VFW service set for 6:30 p.m.
An additional funeral service will be held at Malmo Evangelical Free Church,
in Malmo, Minnesota, on Tuesday, April 10, with burial in the Malmo
Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to the Disabled Veterans of America.
