Russell O. Darling, age 70 of Michigan City, Ind., passed away December 8,
2012.
He was born February 20, 1942 in Valparaiso, Ind., to Bert L. II and Julia
M. (Nesselhauf) Darling.
In 1963 was married to Lorraine (Dutcher) Darling who, along with his
parents, preceded him in death.
Russell is survived by his sons, Danny (Linda) Darling of Michigan City,
Ind., John Darling of Michigan City, Ind.; daughters, Deborah Darling of
Michigan City, Ind., Denice (Charles) Darling-Diab of Avondale, Ariz.;
brothers, Don (Esther) Darling of Stanford, Conn., “Larry” Bert Darling III
of Rolling Prairie, Ind., Richard (Judy) Darling of Chesterton, Ind.;
sisters, Jacqueline Darling and Julie Strickland, both of Michigan City,
Ind.; grandchildren, Nathan Darling, Kammie Darling, Joshua Wayne Darling,
Charles Thomas Diab, Cecalie Diab, Camile Diab, Cassandra Diab, Cash Jordan
Diab; and great-granddaughter Janelle Elizabeth.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Darling and John
Schulp; and grandson Joshua Dakota Darling.
Russell was a lifelong area resident and was an alignment technician. He
worked for Flanigan Tire for 17 years. Russell loved spending time with his
grandchildren, fishing, and coin collecting. He was also an avid Chicago
Bears and Cubs fan.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 2:00 to
6:00 p.m. at White Eagle Park, 2107 Welnetz Rd., Michigan City, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral
expenses.
