Richard A. “Dick” Gross, age 76 of Porter, Ind., passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at his home.

Dick was born September 12, 1936 in Elwood, Ind., to Carl Vernon and Kathryn (Farmer) Gross, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was married on November 14, 1959 to Bessie Gross, who preceded him in death in 2009.

Dick is survived by his children, Michael Elwood, Sherry (John) Scircle of Knoxville, Tenn., and Richard (Theresa) Gross of Porter, Ind.; grandchildren, Samantha and Kayla Gross of Porter, Ind., Aimee (Oswaldo) Santos of Hobart, Ind. and Austin Scircle of Knoxville, Tenn.; great-granddaughter, Camila of Hobart, Ind.; and brother, Ed (Nancy) Gross of Marion, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Harold and Bill; and sisters, Susan, Judith and Kathryn.

Dick retired from Ruan Trucking Company, where he worked as a Diesel Mechanic. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, Elwood, Ind. Burial will follow at Elwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter County.
