Myrtle E. Johnson Grieger, age 92, of Furnessville, Ind., passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Whispering Pines Health Care Center in Valparaiso, Ind.

She was born on April 12, 1920 in Ellison Bay, Wisconsin to Mr. and Mrs. Axel Johnson, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son Roger Grieger; daughter-in-law Sandra Grieger; grandchildren Steve Grieger, Jerry (Danielle) Grieger; great- grandchildren Jamie, Brooke and Derek; great-great-grandchildren Alex, Corey and Silas.

She is also survived by her brother Donald Johnson of Wisconsin, special sister-in-law Delores Brooks of Monticello and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willis, grandson Wayne and siblings Clyde, Louise, Irene, Clayton, Gladys, Winifred and Curtis.

Myrtle enjoyed knitting, weaving and gardening.

Private family services will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton, Ind., with Pastor Erich Fickel officiating. Burial will be in Furnessville Cemetery.
