Maxine L. Edquist, age 87, of Niles, Michigan passed away on Wednesday,
September 12, 2012 at Lakeland Hospital.
Maxine was born
on August 28, 1925 in Chesterton, Indiana to the late Stephen “Zadravec” and
Margaret (Ameling) Wolfe.
On October 30,
1948 she was united in marriage to Glen C. Edquist in Chesterton, Indiana.
She is survived
by three sons; Robert (Donna) Edquist of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Gregory
Edquist of Flint, Michigan and Terry (Tracie) Edquist of Niles, Mich. four
grandchildren; Kristen, Andrew, Aaron and Zachery, two great-grandchildren,
Austin and Emma, also two sons of her deceased sister Marilyn; Walter
(Violet) Holley, Stephen (Barb) Holley, nephews and nieces, Paul, Karen
(Ross), Peter (Linda), Ann (John), David (Olga), Jerry (Peggy), Kathy (Al),
Marie (Rick), also her deceased brother-in-law Kenneth’s widow Rona and
daughters; Debbie, Holly and Kerri, cousins and family in Canada.
Maxine was
preceded in death by her parents, sister Marilyn Scott, nephew Craig Holley,
brother-in-laws, Carl W. Edquist and Kenneth Edquist.
She retired
after 20 years from the Niles Township Office to help in further education
of the boys. She dedicated herself to raising three fine sons.
Visitation will
be on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral
Home.
Funeral services
will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 11:00 am in St. Mark
Catholic Church, 3 North 19th Street; Niles, Michigan. Interment will follow
the services at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
