Martin W. Broecker, age 84 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Porter, Ind.,
passed away on August 11, 2012 at Living Center West Nursing Home.
He was born on April 7, 1928 in Chicago, Ill., to Martin John Adam and
Lillian Beetz Broecker, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is also preceded in death by his wife Alice Mae Olson Broecker and
brother, Delbert Broecker.
Surviving are his primary care-givers and 20 year friends: Paula J. (Simms)
Rosenbaum and Douglas D. Rosenbaum of Olin, Iowa.
Martin was a United States Army veteran and was in the 7th Calvary Regiment
from 1950-1952, during the Korean War. ERC 1950-1952 (Chicago, Ill.). Martin
worked for the Northern Indiana Public Service Co. (NIPSCO) as a Meter
Reader from 1954 until 1989. He loved animals, especially dogs and cats.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, Ind., with Pastor
Cort Bucher officiating.
