Margaret V. Mayton, age 86, of Valparaiso, Ind., formerly of Orland Park,
Ill., passed away on Sept. 11, 2012.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., on April 30, 1926, to J. Edward and Minnie
Jones.
On June 23, 1945, she married Paul Mayton, who preceded her in death in
1983.
She had two children, Daughter Nancy Jean (Jeff) Bailey, who survives in
Porter, Ind., and a son Robert John Mayton who preceded her in death.
She is also survived by grandchildren Andrew and Lauren Bailey, of Porter,
Tammie (Shay) Krayniak, Michael Bailey, Jamie Bailey and Ryan (Jessica)
Bailey. Great-grandchildren include Tristen and Kyla Krayniak, Kirsten,
Bryce, Brennen, Clara and Emma Bailey.
She is also survived by a brother, Paul C. Jones, of Park Forest, Ill. and
sister Barbara Pavlacka, of Homewood, Ill., sister-in-law Geri Mayton, of
Flint, Mich., and dear friend Etta Karpinski, of Manteno, Ill.
She also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members and many good
friends.
Her sister Carol Celebuski preceded her in death.
Marge was a 1944 graduate of Parker High School in Chicago. She was a
long-time resident of Blue Island and Olympia Fields, Ill. She was co-owner
of Mayton Heating and Air Conditioning and a retired employee of Carson
Pirie Scott. She was a volunteer at Olympia Fields Osteopathic Hospital for
many years. She loved to travel, enjoyed trips to Europe, Hawaii and many
U.S. destinations. She enjoyed holidays and parties with family and friends.
She attended New Life Wesleyan Church of Chesterton.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Tews
Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Hwy., Homewood, Ill. 60430.
Funeral services will be at Tews at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, with
Rev. Allen Wright of New Life Wesleyan Church officiating. Interment will be
at Beverly Cemetery, in Blue Island, Ill.
Memorial donations may be made to the National Alzheimer’s Assoc. or the VNA
Hospice of Porter County, Indiana.
