Mabel J. Brainerd dies at age 91

Mabel Jeanette (Ehlers) Brainerd, passed away January 27, 2012, in Fairfield, California, at the age of 91.

She was the last surviving sibling of the William Theodore Ehlers and Hazel Mae (Woodman) Danderson family.

She was raised and married in Porter, Indiana.

Her husband, Robert Phelps Brainerd, and daughter Barbara Jean Brainerd, both preceded her in death.

She is survived by her three sons, Robert Phelps Brainerd, Jr. (Margaret), of Rio Vista Calif.; Thomas Orrin Brainerd, of Kailua Kona, Hawaii and Gary Alan Brainerd (Marlys) of White House, Tennessee, as well as five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Her deceased siblings were Milton Danderson (step-brother); Margaret Bobo, of Scottsdale, Arizona; Mildred Sexton, of Porter, Ind.; Evelyn Mae Samuelson, of Porter; Helen Ruth Hess, formerly of Porter; William Theodore (Bud) Ehlers of Porter and Pauline Lorraine Ehlers.

Mabel was cremated in Fairfield, Calif. and will be buried with her husband in the Chesterton Cemetery on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 10:00 a.m.

Friends and family are welcome to attend.
