He was born May 14, 1952 in Gadsden, Alabama to Wrennie Herman and Sylvia Royal.

He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Royal of Valparaiso, Ind.; wife, Debra Royal of Plymouth, Ind.; daughters, Trena (Dave) Joseph of Porter, Ind. and Chenoa (Victor) Rapert of Arkansas; grandchildren, Michael and Kayli Joseph, Justin, Caleb and Landon and great-granddaughter Adeline. The family cherishes the memories of his twinkling eyes and merry smile as he read “A Christmas Carol” to all at the family Christmas Eve parties, his sense of humor, love of family and friends, and his desire to help others at any time.

Rusty loved to fish, hunt and play video games with his grandchildren. His spirit of fun, love of God, country and family will never be forgotten.
