Francis Roscoe Brockway, age 96 of Wheatfield, Ind., passed away Saturday,
November 3, 2012 in Valparaiso, Ind.
He was born
April 14, 1916 in Hebron, Ind., to Bert and Grace Brockway, both of whom
preceded him in death.
He was married
to Concetta (Froesta) Brockway, who also preceded him in death.
Francis is
survived by his sons, Robert A. (Carrie) Brockway of Wheatfield, Ind., and
Ronald (Debbie) Brockway of Valparaiso, Ind.; daughters, Elva (Jim)
Stinebeck of Chesterton, Ind., and Grace (Bill) Milner of Porter, Ind.;
adopted daughter, Theresa Miller of Westville, Ind.; half-sister, Kathryn
Woodard; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded
in death by his parents; wife; son, Albert Brockway; daughter, Patricia
Gomez; brother, Clifford Brockway; sisters, Christine and Mertie;
grandchildren, Rick Moryl and Kristy Brockway; and great grandson, Terry
Chestovich III.
Francis worked
as a Trackman for the railroad. He was a veteran of the US Army serving
during World War II and was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge.
Funeral services
will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans
Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind., with Pastor C. Ann Girton
Kumeh officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation will
be held Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of
services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
