Emma P. “Pat” Choisser, age 67 of Porter, IN passed away Saturday, October
20, 2012 in Valparaiso, IN.
She was born February 24, 1945 in Gary, IN to James and Ladona (Miller)
Yakel, both of whom preceded her in death.
Emma was married to William F. Choisser, who preceded her in death in
September 2012.
Pat is survived by her son, William D. “Buck” (Janet) Choisser of
Chesterton; daughters, Patsy (Greg) Staub of Chesterton, Tina (Jeff) Kerlin
of Brookfield, Wis., Dawn (Mike) Wagner of Merrillville, Ind., and Loretta
(Jerry) Scott of Chesterton; brother, John “Tom” (Sue) Yakel of Brazil,
Ind.; sisters, Ladona (Wendell “Sully”) Sullivan of Terre Haute, Ind.,
Loretta (Jerry) Scott of Chesterton, Orvetta (Bob) Stuck of Clinton, Ind.
and Michelle (Charles) Areson of Clinton, Ind.; grandchildren, Rosie Leon,
Samantha Barry, John Staub, Hannah Staub, Caylee Wagner, David Kerlin,
Daniel Kerlin, Rebekah Kerlin, Rachel Staub and Noah Staub; and five
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years; grandson, B.J.
Choisser; brother, Richard “Dick” Yakel; and sisters, Mary Swietzer and Sara
Young.
Pat was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge and supported the Muscular
Dystrophy Association. She loved her grandchildren and family and enjoyed
spending time with them.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at
Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with Rev. Mark
Hostetler officiating.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of
service at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy
Association or St. Anthony Hospice Center.
