Edith Kathlyn Holm services Wednesday

Edith Kathlyn Holm, 99 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Waters of Duneland.

She was born January 28, 1913, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Thomas and Edith Greenwell Peregoy, both of whom preceded her in death.

On May 10, 1936, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, she married Roy E. Holm, who preceded her in death in 2001.

Surviving are her children Joan E. Pierce and Paul L. Holm, both of Chesterton; grandchildren Brenda Sue (Steven) Hall, of Tucson, Ariz. and David Raymond (Pamela) Pierce of Primm Springs, Tenn.; great-grandchildren Ruth Elizabeth, Melissa, David and Jonathon Hall, Victoria, Jacquelyn, Preston and Parker Pierce.

Edith was preceded in death by her father Thomas Peregoy, her mother and step-father Edith and Rudolph Wienekamp and her son-in-law Raymond Pierce.

She was a Charter member of the First Baptist Church in Chesterton, where she taught Sunday school and belonged to the Ladies Mission Group.

Edith was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St. Chesterton, Ind., with Pastor Larry Starett officiating. Burial will be in the Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Chesterton in Edith’s name.
