David A. Dougherty, age 58, formerly of Chesterton, Ind., died at his home in Waco, Texas, Nov. 6, 2012 after a long illness.

He was born Nov. 12, 1953, in Council Bluff, Iowa, to Jacqueline (Rolison) and Lowell Dougherty.

He is survived by his mother Jacqueline Dougherty and brother Daniel Dougherty, in Chesterton; and his wife Dedrie Fisher, of Waco, Texas.

Also surviving are his children, Paul, Matthew, James, and Sara (Aaron) Chitty, Jeremiah and Brandee Dougherty; as well as his step-children Michelle, Michael, Amber and Christopher Fisher. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, all in Waco, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father Lowell Dougherty and twin brothers Jackie and Johnny.

A funeral service was held today, Thursday, Nov. 8 in Waco, Texas, with cremation to follow.
