Lucille M. LaVelle of Chesterton passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011. She was 85.

She was born on Feb. 28, 1926 in Quebec, Canada. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Lawrence T. LaVelle; cherished daughters, Lynn (husband Rich) Hoblitzel, Karen (Bill) Davis, Diane (Steve) Brandenburg and Michelle Coslet; cherished grandchildren Shawn, Jessica, Elizabeth, Katheryn, Bryan, Herb, Kyle, Valerie, Codi and Kelsi; and three great grandchildren. She will be missed by all.

Lucille was an area resident since 1956, coming from Hammond. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and previously volunteered at nursing homes.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 25 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 25 at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be performed by Heritage Crematory, Portage.
