Gregory M. Dzierba of Trail Creek passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at his
home in the arms of his best friend and loving wife surrounded by family and
friends who meant the most to him during his long courageous battle with
pancreatic cancer. He was 61.
He was born Jan. 28, 1949 in Buffalo, N.Y. On Sept. 27, 2009 in Michigan
City, he married Tina Luck, who survives in Trail Creek.
Also surviving are a son, Michael Dzierba of Chesterton; his parents, Edward
and Lorraine (Pettibone) Druzbik, of New Carlisle, Ind.; sister, Joann
Stainko of New Carlisle; brother, Daniel (wife Susan) Dzierba of Chesterton;
nephews, George Stainko, Chad Dzierba, Sr., and Scott Dzierba; and many
other nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kyle A. Cuma.
He retired in 2003 as a supervisor at Bethlehem Steel and was a member of
F.O.P. Dunes Lodge #75. He enjoyed camping, the outdoors and attending drag
racing events.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22,
2011 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan
City, with Pastor Dennis Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in St.
Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.
until the time of service Saturday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
