Robert A. Trowbridge, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 28,
2011, at Clinica Playamed Hospital in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
He was born on December 16, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Perry J.
and Melba (Hamilton) Trowbridge.
In 1957, he married Myrna (Magnuson) Trowbridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Perry and Richard.
He is survived by his former wife, Dr. Myrna Trowbridge, of Valparaiso; one
son, Brett (Becky) Trowbridge of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; three
daughters, Glenda (John) Dinyari of Durham, North Carolina, Stacy (Mark)
Mina of Mansfield, Maine, and Gina (Ron) Harker of Granger, Ind.;
grandchildren, Audrey and Carter Dinyari, Gretchen and Jack Mina, Zachary
and Gabriela Harker; brother, Ralph (Janet) Trowbridge of Muncie, Ind.;
sister, Carol (Steve) Walker of Valparaiso; sister-in-law, Peggy Trowbridge
of Valparaiso and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He moved to Chesterton at the age of 6. He graduated from Liberty Township
High School in 1956 and attended Indiana University in Bloomington for two
years. Bob served hundreds of clients as a dedicated insurance agent from
1959 until 1999 at locations in Valparaiso and South Haven, and then
finally, in Portage.
Following his retirement, Bob moved to Puerto Aventuras, Mexico where he
lived until his death. He loved golf, fishing, model airplanes, warm weather
and most of all his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2011,
at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso.
Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 2:00 to 4:00
p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crohn's and Colitis Foundation
of America or First Presbyterian Church of Valparaiso.
