Paula K. Walstra, age 54 of Chesterton, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at her home.

She was born August 1, 1956 in Michigan City, Ind., to Kenneth and Virginia (Verplank) Blank both of whom preceded her in death.

On September 23, 1978 in Burns Harbor, Ind. she married Douglas Walstra who survives in Chesterton.

Paula is also survived by her two children Douglas Walstra II of Portage, Jessica (John) Taylor of Valparaiso and seven grandchildren, Abigayle, Isabella, Autumn, Cole and Paul Taylor, Bianca and Douglas Walstra III.

She is survived by two brothers Kenneth (Brenda) Blank II of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Shawn Blank of Valparaiso, one sister Deborah Longrace of Gold Canyon, Arizona and nine nieces and nephews.

Paula was a waitress at North Side Diner, Chesterton for nine years.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the White-Love Funeral Home 525 South 2nd St. Chesterton, with Pastor Rod Huber officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
