Oliver F. Montgomery of Chesterton passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011
in Valparaiso, IN. He was 58.
He was born Oct. 24, 1952 in Valparaiso to Oliver and Claire (Brown)
Montgomery, who survive of Porter.
Oliver is also survived by his brothers, Wayne (wife Theresa) Montgomery of
Chesapeake Bay, Md., Kevin Montgomery of Porter, and Scott (Joshina)
Montgomery of Mechanicsberg, Pa.; and nephews and niece, Kenith, Lisa Marie
and Matthew.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Montgomery.
Oliver worked as a Night Auditor for the Best Western in Portage. He
previously managed hotels in Omaha, Neb. and Decatur, Ill. He was a
recipient of the Kentucky Colonel Award. Oliver was a 25-year member of the
Masonic Lodge #379. He was a Chapter Dad and an Area Representative for the
Order of DeMolay and also received a Chevalier Degree in DeMolay.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. at Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Visitation will be held on
Thursday, Feb. 17 from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. at the
funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
