Nancy Arlene Ailes, age 59, of Valparaiso, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011.

She was born September 8, 1952 in Valparaiso to DeForest and Mary Jane (Tavernier) Ailes.

Nancy is survived by her son, James Ailes of Manteno, Ill.; brothers, Thomas (wife, Mary Carolyn) Ailes of Valparaiso, Timothy (wife, Christine) Ailes of Boulder, Colo., and Ted (wife, Deborah) Ailes of Chesterton; sisters, Vicki Gall of Valparaiso and Wendy (husband, Gregory M.) Short of Valparaiso. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, DeForest and Mary Jane Ailes and brother in law, Gilbert Gall.

She graduated from Chesterton High School Class of 1970 and attended Indiana University Northwest where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Labor Studies as well as completing several other degree and certificate programs.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.EE-FH.com
