Margaret E. Staple of Chesterton, formerly of Thousand Oaks, Calif., passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at VNA Horton Hospice Center in Valparaiso. She was 92.

She was born Oct. 1, 1918 in Haskins, Ohio to Clayton E. and Anna (Leverton) Williamson, who preceded her in death. Margaret was a retired homemaker, a faithful Christian and a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Those who knew her loved her.

She is survived by her son, Michael W. (wife Shirley) Staples of Findlay, Ohio; daughters, Marilyn S. (husband Michael) Distel of Fairbanks, Ala. and Cathy A. (Kirk) Huffman of Chesterton; daughter-in-law, Sheri (Tillmon) Moen of Atascadera, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert M. Staple; son Robert L. Staples; brother William H. Williamson; and sister Eva M. Swartz.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 10 at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Allen Wright officiating. Interment will take place in West Lake Village, Calif.
