Kenneth Eugene Henderson, age 85 of Lake Station, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011.

He was born on July 20, 1926 to Russell and Leona Mae (Thomas) Henderson, both of whom preceded him in death.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Vivian Ann Henderson of Lake Station; sons, David E. Henderson of Shelbyville, Ind.; Kenneth Lee (Joyce) Henderson of South Haven; Richard W. (Diana) Henderson of Chesterton; John Thomas (Ruth) Henderson of Rockford, Mich.; daughter, Sandra (John) Goodpaster of Lake Station; aunt, Geraldine Tharp of Robinson, Ill.; twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Keith R. Henderson.

Kenneth was a painter and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was also a member of Chesterton Southern Baptist Church where he was a faithful deacon.

He loved working on his cars and motorcycles.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel 6941 Central Ave, Portage, Ind., with Rev Rick Henderson officiating.

Burial will follow at Heritage Cemetery, Portage, Ind. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
