Judith A. McAllister, 66, of Chesterton, formerly of Hammond, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the Waters of Duneland nursing home.

She was born on June 4, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia to Arthur and Lydia (Brinkmeyer) Sperry.

On October 25, 1963 in Blue Island, Ill., she married Joseph McAllister who survives along with three children: David (Sandy) McAllister of Hammond, Randy (Renee) McAllister of Chesterton and Joseph (Meg) McAllister of Portage, three sisters: Kathy, Debbie, and Nancy, two brothers: Art and Bob, six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Diane and grandson Jonathon.

She worked as a waitress at Johnel’s in Hammond for 30 years, retiring in 2008. Judy enjoyed gardening and dancing.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 12 Noon at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd. Valparaiso, Ind., with two hours of visiting prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
